DID YOU KNOW:
THE CHURCH IS NOT A BUILDING!
The mission God gave to the church is more than living a prosperous and blessed life, to give money to the church to ensure our blessings continue and to occasionally mention the Lord to others. This version of missions Christianity cannot be found anywhere in the scriptures, yet it is taught as solid theology in many of today’s churches. We at OFA believe that the true mission of the church is that we are to be Light to our communities, to all who are in our circle of influence inside and outside the walls of the church building. We are to selflessly give of ourselves to a lost and dying world. This means using the very resources God has given each of us to reach as many people as we can to give them help and hope in times of trouble. We also help people to understand the Gospel message through the preaching and teaching of the Full Council of God. We are to make disciples and train them up in the way they should go. We are to love and care for those who are hurting, pray for those in need and to build lasting relationships with those in our care. The church is not a mere building that has people gather to it once or twice a week, but a growing living breathing extension of the heart of God to humanity. It was formed by God and is equipped by God to do the work He commands His people to do. It should indeed be our joy and privilege to help all we can, to see many people come to new life in Christ and have a True and Living Hope in life.
The true mission of the church is revealed in the following verses.
These are not all inclusive.
